“There Wasn’t Much Else for Me to Do There” – Renee Young Opens up on Her Decision to Quit WWE

Renee Paquette needs no introduction for wrestling fans. The former Renee Young is famous for her time in the WWE as a backstage interviewer and a commentator.
Renee left WWE in late 2020 after eight years with the company, and she finally revealed the real reason she parted ways with the promotion.
Why did Renee Paquette leave WWE?

Renee recently joined Chris Van Vliet on his podcast discussing a plethora of things, including her WWE release. Chris asked her when she legit thought about leaving WWE.
Renee instantly replied, “I think it’s probably like two, three years ago, I had asked for my release from WWE. Because it felt like there really wasn’t much else for me to do there. I’d been doing all these backstage interviews, hosting a bunch of different network shows, been doing commentary and coming off of commentary.”

Renee said that she felt like she had no chance of achieving anything more in the WWE as she wasn’t a wrestler, and despite all the work, it was still a wrestling company.
Renee diversified her skills in WWE
WWE did not grant her a release immediately. This also allowed Renee to step up and grow more by doing commentary and a few other ventures.

“Had I actually have left that first time. I don’t think that my time there or my career, there would have been what it is now. I mean, obviously wouldn’t have time has been spent and more important things have been done. But I’m glad that the time that I spent there I was able to really knock off some big bucket list things.”
Renee’s time in the WWE was surely a memorable one. She made a lot of friends there, and even met her husband, Jon Moxley. WWE gave a lot to Renee, and we as fans are glad that we got to see her on our TV screens.

Fans are speculating a move to AEW as Jon Moxley is currently signed to the promotion. But when you think about the reason she left WWE, it’s doubtful she would sign with AEW and end up doing the same thing that she did in the WWE.
