We have all heard the saying ‘Work hard, party harder’. Well, Dwayne Johnson has perfected it. Apart from his usual business of acting and his pro-wrestling past, the burly Hollywood star is known for his crushing workouts. However, he is equally famous for his cheat meals, which involve large portions of delicacies that Johnson devours on a weekly basis.

Recently, he shared a video from one of his parties and people were left confused. The reason, however, was an amusing one- ‘The Great One’s’ dancing partner.

Fans had a hard time separating The Rock from the other person

Dwayne Johnson shared the video earlier in the day and said he was with his “partner in zero f*cks”. He could be seen dancing to loud music along with his stunt double, Tanoai Reed. Interestingly, Reed is Johnson’s cousin and they share a lot of similarities, including the bald look.

So, it wasn’t improbable for fans to have the confusion and they filled the comment section with several such remarks.

The party Johnson posted the video from was his uncle Leroy’s birthday. Wishing the 80-year-old Leroy Reed, who is the father of his stunt double, The Brahma Bull said the octogenarian is in better shape than others.

Interestingly, Johnson came to know about his uncle Leroy much later in his life, through the latter’s son.

Who is Tanoai Reed and how did he start working as Dwayne Johnson’s body double?

As mentioned above, The People’s Champ and his stunt double are cousins. Considering they are family, it should be straightforward that Dwayne Johnson asked his lookalike cousin to work together. However, it is not.

Contrary to that, Johnson and Reed met before filming The Scorpion King through sheer luck. “I ran into some guys who were working on The Scorpion King, and they were looking for a stunt double [for Dwayne Johnson]. They asked me to come into the production office and try the costume on, and the wardrobe fit perfect. So, they asked me if I could start the next day. Literally, right place, right time,” Reed told Netflix during a 2021 interview.

It was during the filming that the two realized they were related and shared lineage. According to Reed, he started out early in the industry, even before Johnson made his WWE debut in 1996.

The two have worked together since. Reed, however, is not the only stunt worker in his family. His wife, Suzanne Reed, had also worked in The Scorpion King movie.

Interestingly, not just people on the internet, Reed has been mistaken for his $800 million worth cousin in person as well. So next time you see Dwayne Johnson pulling out something crazy in a movie, know that the bulk of it is likely done by his cousin.
