One of the most awaited matches of Raw’s 30th anniversary ended before it could start. A steel cage match was set between “The Man” Becky Lynch and Bayley for Raw’s 30th anniversary. WWE Universe was quite excited about the match as it was s one of the main attractions on Raw. However, creatives had to cut the match as the segment with “The Bloodline” ended up being way longer than expected.
The steel cage came down and fans started cheering as they expected a record-breaking match of the WWE women’s division. But, before the bell rang, Damage CTRL ( Dakota Kai, Bayley, and Iyo Sky) attacked The Man. This resulted in the cancellation of the match and left many fans heartbroken.

However, this is different from how it was actually planned. According to the report by Fightful Sight, WWE’s Chief Content Officer Triple H had enormous plans for the steel cage match. The match was originally supposed to take the two segments’ worth of time. But, the “Tribal Court” segment took way much time and WWE creatives were left with just two other options. The first one is to make the match as shorter as possible or to alter the storyline angle. And they decided to go with the second one.

Even though the segment didn’t go as the fans expected, but WWE creatives took the right decision by changing the angle instead of trimming the match. This gave fans hope that there could be a match between Bayley and Becky Lynch, somewhere near WrestleMania 39. Also, it would be interesting to see how their feud proceeds after this huge alteration.
