Top WWE Official Provides a Disappointing Update for the Fans on Pat McAfee’s Future With the Company

Pat McAfee has to be one of the brightest commentators that WWE has had in recent times. It’s his exuberant style that has struck a chord with the audience. And the wrestling community misses his absence at the announce table. However, recent comments by WWE CEO Nick Khan suggest that McAfee may not be seen in the Stamford-based promotion anytime soon.
The former NFL star was last seen on comm duties in the company during the 2023 Royal Rumble PLE. There have been massive clouds over his future with the WWE. SmackDown commentator Wade Barrett has already provided a disappointing update on it. And now Khan’s remarks have further made matters bleak.

The WWE higher-up recently chatted with The Marchand and Ourand Sports Media podcast. Therein he commented on the possibility of McAfee’s appearance in the upcoming grand event. Khan said, “We have no plans to have him {McAfee} there this weekend.”
On his future with the company as a whole, he put the onus on McAfee. He said, “He’ll determine ultimately where he wants his home to be and you know our hope is that he does more with us.”

With WrestleMania 39 just around the corner, many fans were wondering if the former Indianapolis Colts player would be involved in some capacity. However, those hopes have all but dashed after this recent update by Khan.

But that was not the end of the night for McAfee as Stone Cold appeared and cleaned house to the crowd’s amusement. That was before The Texas Rattlesnake bit the former NFL star by delivering a typical Stone Cold Stunner on him.
It will be truly disheartening for the masses to learn of McAfee’s absence from the marquee event this time around.
Pat McAfee, not showing up in WrestleMania, will definitely sting. But the intriguing match card on offer would do quite well in negating his absence. It will be McAfee’s continued non-appearance of WWE programming that will hurt the fans more. Wrestling fanatics are a bunch of optimists, but hearing Nick Khan’s latest comments, it would be hard to act as one.
