Ronda Rousey is one of the most fierce and powerful female athletes in the sport’s history. Thanks to her mother, who had been training her since she was a little girl and had made her a champion everywhere she went, she went on to dominate in three separate combat sports: Judo, MMA, and professional wrestling.

For the benefit of those who are unaware, Rousey’s mother was one of the first Americans to bring home a gold medal at the World Judo Championships. Recently, a photo of her that displayed her strengths surfaced online.

Rowdy has remarked about how much her mother, AnnMaria De Mars, inspires her. And the most recent picture shows why this is the case, as she picked Rousey up easily while showcasing her judo skills.

Furthermore, she has a Ph.D. in physiology and an MBA. This shows that she has great academic skills in addition to being physically strong.

There are several stories of De Mars smacking armbars on her daughter while she was asleep in the middle of the night, and she also has well-deserved notoriety for that.

Ronda Rousey received unusual training as a youngster from her mother

Rousey explained how her mother’s unorthodox training helped her develop her signature armbar maneuver during an interview with Conan O’Brien. In her words, “She’s [Rousey’s mom] really great at really messing with the mind of someone young to make them into a champion. She would randomly attack me around the house.”
