Brock Lesnar is one of the few athletes in the world who has made a remarkable name for himself in MMA and pro wrestling. ‘The Beast’ became a sensation in WWE and then moved on to UFC in 2008, where he showcased his abilities once again and won the Heavyweight Championship.

Lesnar returned to WWE in 2012, heading straight to be featured in the main events. Three years later, when his new contract with the sports entertainment giants was coming up, the UFC made him a massive offer.

However, the man once termed ‘The Next Big Thing’ would sign a new WWE contract, putting a rest to all speculations about his future.

What Dana White said about Brock Lesnar signing a new WWE contract

Brock Lesnar was a massive draw for UFC during his time with the promotion. His crossover appeal was a big factor in the UFC and featuring him did really well for their pay-per-view buys. Hence, it made sense for them to get him back in the mix. But Lesnar signing with WWE dashed those plans.

Afterward, UFC President White said that the former UFC Champion had let him know beforehand about his decision.

Further, TMZ Sports asked White what he thought of Lesnar’s new deal with WWE.

White replied, “I think for Brock it was a couple of things. I think Vince gave him a deal he couldn’t refuse at the right time in his life. He’s 37 years old this, it’s a young man’s sport.”

Dana White also said he had no issues with Vince McMahon over this deal, “I am happy for Vince. I’m happy for Brock and I’m happy for his family it’s a great deal for everybody.”

The decision from a financial standpoint made sense for Lesnar. He had already conquered UFC and there was not much left for him to prove further.

Despite signing a new WWE deal in 2015, Lesnar returned to the octagon at UFC 200. He fought a match for the promotion while being under a WWE contract; a rare exception indeed.

‘The Beast Incarnate’ won his fight against Mark Hunt, but the decision was later changed to no-contest, after he tested positive for a banned substance.

Although there were further speculations about Lesnar’s comeback to the UFC, he has kept himself away from MMA. Recently, the former WWE champion was in an exhilarating match against the Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns at SummerSlam, in which he lost to The Tribal Chief again. His next appearance will be in 2023 at the Grandest Stage of Them All.
