Dwayne Johnson is an idol for not only wrestlers but MMA fighters too. It turns out Johnson’s sports values make him an admirable person for several athletes. Right before UFC 293 took place in Sydney, Australia, some fighters recorded short messages. The Rock then went through these videos and uploaded them on his social media. In case you were wondering why Johnson was promoting UFC on his social media, the sole credit goes to the deal he struck with the MMA promotion. UFC partnered with ‘Project Rock’ in 2022 to launch their co-branded footwear. In order to promote this partnership, Johnson decided to partake in promoting UFC 293 with the help the Samoan wrestlers that were going to be a part of the event. Tuivasa was also on the list.

Tuivasa began by confessing how he has always performed better in front of a huge crowd. The reason why he likes being a professional MMA fighter is that while street fights don’t have lots of witnesses, fighting in the Octagon would bring Tuivasa the fame and thrill he looks forward to.

He also said, “Even when I played football, I always played better when it was a bigger crowd. I’m a people’s person you know what I mean? Just like ‘The Rock’, he’s a people’s champ, so… I suppose it’s in us.

By the end, ‘Bam Bam’ drew the parallel between him and ‘The Great One’, saying that both the Samoans have a tendency to be the ‘people’s champ’.

Since September 2022, the Australian MMA star has been on a rough patch. Tuivasa had lost two consecutive fights before UFC 293.
