Ronda Rousey is one of the most popular and intimidating athletes in the world. She started her career in Judo and even won a bronze medal at the 2008 Olympics. Later, she retired from that sport and moved on to MMA.

Rousey retired from Judo at 21, to shift her focus to MMA. She began her MMA career on a positive note after defeating Hayden Munoz in 23 seconds. She would then have a massive career in MMA and the UFC. Under UFC, she became the first female UFC Hall of Fame inductee. She also became the inaugural UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion.

Joe Rogan, speaking on his podcast with Aaron Rodgers, discussed the moment when Holly Holm stood victorious over the ‘Rowdy’ Ronda Rousey. Speaking on his podcast, both of them discussed the fight between Holm and Rousey that took place at UFC 193 in Melbourne, Australia.

While claiming Leon Edward’s head kick as perfect, Rogan placed Holly Holm’s head kick against Ronda Rousey as a close second. He said, “You could Holly Holm vs Ronda Rousey but Holly Holm was winning that fight. It’s a totally different experience. Holly Holm was avoiding Ronda. She avoided the clinch, she avoided the takedowns, she was dominating on the feet.”

He continued, “Ronda was already beaten up by the time Holly landed a head kick. Ronda was getting f*cked up.” Rodgers then stated, “That was a rough night for Ronda Rousey fans.” While Rogan stated, it was a great one for Holly Holm fans.

Her defeat in Australia shook Rousey from the core. Later on her comeback, she again lost to Amanda Nunes on UFC 207 but again lost. Post her loss to Holm, she had even considered suicide but rose from that state later. Rousey maintained a dominant fight record of 12-2 during her MMA career before choosing to retire from the sport in 2018.

Rousey went through a tough childhood as her father committed suicide when she was eight. The 35-year-old also suffered from a speech problem because of her umbilical cord wrapped around her neck during her birth. Ronda Rousey also a victim of bullying during her school life, but none of these hardships was able to hold her down. She rose from her falls and reached the heights where she is now.
