According to Meltzer reports, “Rey Mysterio’s return now looks to be in a few weeks. He was hoping for late January but is pretty close to being ready to return.”

Long before he had surgery, Mysterio had been hurt at work for months. The injury was said to have been caused by an attack by Santos Escobar. After turning against Mysterio, Escobar attacked him on the November 10 show of SmackDown.

Did Rey Mysterio just sign a new deal with WWE?

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio says that Rey Mysterio just signed a long-term deal with WWE. Even though Meltzer wasn’t sure how long the new contract would be, he thought it might be five years, which would mean Mysterio would be under contract until he turned 54. Meltzer said that WWE would not have even thought about hiring a talent that old a long time ago.

Meltzer went on to say that he is sure Mysterio will make a lot of money from the new deal because he made a lot of money from his first short-term deal with WWE when he came back to the company. Zelina Vega, Joaquin Wilde, Cruz Del Toro, and Carlito are all in the LWO.
