“A Little Heated”: Vince McMahon Made a Massive Change in WWE After Pro Wrestling Veteran Compromised Him in MSG

For several years now scripted promos have been a thing. The wrestlers used to be handed a script out of which they had to deliver the promo, and this was the brainchild of former WWE CEO Vince McMahon. Throughout his stay in WWE for the past few decades, Mr. McMahon held a strong authority in the company. However, such is not the case anymore.

Vince McMahon retired from his position last month after hush money allegations and Stephanie McMahon, Triple H, and Nick Khan took over. Since Triple H took the creative over, it has only received praise. Long ago, unscripted promos were a thing but one until one day, when a WWE Hall of Famer went off-script. This incident led to Vince McMahon banning unscripted promos.

While speaking on AdFreeShows, former WWE writer Brian Gerwitz revealed that it was Ric Flair who once went off-script during a show at Madison Square Garden. This angered Vince McMahon to the core and led to him banning unscripted promos.

Gerwitz said, “There might have been an incident in Madison Square Garden once when Ric Flair went off script that got Vince a little heated about what he had said and said, ‘Dammit, from then on, I need to know what every single talent is going to be saying going out there.

Gerwitz revealed that during the incident at Madison Square Garden, there were a lot of corporate sponsors present and Ric Flair had spoken something very offensive, which even led to a noticeable shift in approval.

WWE Fans are fond of unscripted promos as it keeps the tension and the situation real. From the time, scripted they introduced scripted promos they disappointed several fans.

Vince McMahon’s retirement led to a WWE legend feeling ’empty

Mysterio said, “I know they have their hands full right now, you know it feels weird, it feels empty not having Vince there.” Rey insisted on the fact that the new people in charge were the best out there and then, they can improve the company and give the fans what they like. He also said how fans will get the matches and storylines they want to see.
