Vince McMahon Least Interested in Promoting WWE via Super Bowl Ads

Vince McMahon is the greatest boss in pro-wrestling history. He has single-handedly got WWE to the position where nobody needs an introduction worldwide to what WWE is. In some countries, pro-wrestling is even referred to as WWE itself. Moreover, some may consider it even bigger than the Super Bowl around the world.
WWE doesn’t need any introduction or any advertisements anymore. They have a bigger reach on social media and all the campaigns they do around the world. It has always been a bigger brand for a long period.

Many other sports and entertainment industries have their commercials run on the Super Bowl. However, since 1999, WWE has never done a Super Bowl commercial for a long period. Vince McMahon has publicly stated that he thinks it is a waste of money.

Recently, it was noted there will be a WWE commercial during Super Bowl. But the commercial is for Peacock TV not for WWE. Meltzer pointed out on Wrestling Observer Radio.
He said – “Vince has said publicly and he has said to me that it was a waste of money. That’s why they never did it again. At the time everybody talked about it but for what their company is — a Super Bowl commercial for some things would work. A Super Bowl commercial for Peacock makes sense…” (H/T Ringside News)
Vince McMahon, not directly doing a Super Bowl commercial, is actually a business idea by him. He knows WWE is a bigger brand and does not need a big advertisement for any event. WWE fans who watch regular shows are well aware of the events that are planned for the future.
Although, WWE makes direct commercials for their PPVs, but mostly for the bigger events like WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, and SummerSlam. However, WWE’ s Royal Rumble commercials have always been creative advertisements.

However, this year’s Super Bowl ad rates are at an all-time high. This year, NBC’s asking price for a Super Bowl commercial is $6.5 million for a 30-second spot, up from $5.5 million in 2021.
