The WrestleMania event not only provides an opportunity for wrestlers and celebrities to shine on a global stage, but it also provides the opportunity to make big bucks. The WWE does not shy away from emptying the pockets for the annual showpiece. As the mega sets and blockbuster entrances do seem to involve very high costs. Former WWE chairman Vince McMahon knew the importance of spending big in order to attain even bigger profits. However, there was an instance when the former boss paid a wrestler $100 for appearing at WrestleMania 13.

Dutch Mantel, who appeared in the WWE during the 90s as manager Uncle Zebekiah recently revealed a bizarre set of events at his Story Time With Dutch Mantel podcast. Mantel, who many fans remember as Zeb Colter, revealed how former wrestler James Dundee aka JC Ice once bore the brunt of McMahon’s anger. This ultimately also led to his removal from WWE.

A bizarre set of circumstances at WrestleMania 13

Mantel Said, “You know why he (Dundee) got fired? He showed up, they had a pay-per-view in, I think was WrestleMania in Houston. He showed up 30 minutes before the show started and still owed the guy like $700 in cab bill and he totally got, wait, I’ll get you your money and went inside the building and the taxi driver never saw Jaimie again. I think they got the guy paid somehow. Because the guy raised so much hell he wants his money and they knew Jamie was there but that time and he took a cab from Dallas or somewhere to Houston.

Vince McMahon wasn’t too pleased

It is worth noting that the WrestleMania 13 event that Mantell is talking about took place in Chicago and not Houston. Nevertheless, the story is among the most bizarre ones and wrestling fans have surely seen a few of those. McMahon has been known to lose his temper in the past and this time was no different.

James Dundee was associated with the faction The Nation Of Domination at the time Mantell was referring to. The heel faction also consisted of legends such as Farooq, Godfather, and later The Rock.

It was no surprise that Vince McMahon wasn’t too pleased with James Dundee’s actions. And as revealed by Mantell, the 100 dollars payoff was McMahon’s way of bringing his former employee in line. The former chairman wasn’t going to let Dundee walk away from the incident lightly as he also removed the wrestler from the promotion. Adding the wrestler to the list of many who suffered the wrath of the former boss.
