Vince McMahon Takes Unpredictable Step in Wake of Allegations of Misconduct

Almost every pro wrestling fan is talking about Vince McMahon right now. This is not the first time that Mr. McMahon has made the headlines. But this time, it is not for a good reason. As per a report from The Wall Street Journal, Vince McMahon paid a $3 million settlement to shush a former WWE employee with whom Mr. McMahon had an alleged affair.
Soon after such reports came out, several individuals speculated about the future of Vince McMahon in WWE. And it looks like there is an answer to all those speculations.
Recently, WWE released a statement stating that Mr. McMahon has voluntarily stepped back from his responsibilities as CEO and chairperson of the Board until the conclusion of the investigation related to his reportedly alleged misconduct.

As reported by WrestleTalk, WWE noted the following in the statement, “Stamford, Conn.–WWE (NYSE: WWE) and the Board of Directors today announced that a Special Committee of the Board is conducting an investigation into alleged misconduct by its Chairman and CEO Vincent McMahon and John Laurinaitis, head of talent relations, and that, effective immediately, McMahon has voluntarily stepped back from his responsibilities as CEO and Chairman of the Board until the conclusion of the investigation.”
“McMahon will retain his role and responsibilities related to WWE’s creative content during this period and remains committed to cooperating with the review underway.”

Stephanie McMahon becomes the interim CEO and interim chairperson
A few days earlier, Stephanie McMahon took a leave of absence from most of her responsibilities at WWE. She took to her social media handle to inform all the fans about this leave of absence. But she will now have to take enormous responsibilities.

A Special Committee of the Board appointed Stephanie McMahon as the interim CEO and the interim chairperson after Mr. McMahon voluntarily stepped back from his responsibilities as of now.
