Dwayne Johnson is one of WWE’s most successful wrestlers and has also had a star-studded career in Hollywood. Ever since he gained global attention, The Rock has been seen as an ideal role model. However, several Americans also see him as a model citizen worthy of taking the Presidential office, to the point of dedicating an entire website to it.

Dwayne Johnson has always maintained a healthy distance from politics and hasn’t shown much interest in it. However, a really special something has the people talking about him presiding over the White House nonetheless. So, what started the conversation about Johnson running for President and why is it relevant today?

Despite The Rock’s highly apolitical nature, fans of Johnson just can’t help but see him as their future President. Interestingly, the element that kickstarted this conversation was a project Johnson worked on in 2021.

Dwayne Johnson produced, acted in, and released a sitcom based on his life called ‘Young Rock.’ The show first aired on 16th February 2021 and ended its third season on 24th February 2023. Interestingly, while the show depicted the childhood version of Johnson, it also displayed him in a future scenario. More specifically, as a presidential candidate in 2032.

The show used the premise of Johnson appearing for press conferences as a presidential candidate. However, when he was asked any questions, Johnson answered them after reliving a flashback from his life. While the segment was made for television, American citizens actually started to see Dwayne Johnson in the light of an actual potential presidential candidate.

Dwayne Johnson had recently made an appearance on Trevor Noah’s ‘What Now?’ podcast. The South African comedian questioned The Rock regarding a possible run for the White House in the future. Interestingly, this prompted Johnson to give away an absolutely crazy piece of information in response.

When political parties approached The Rock to run for President as well

Speaking to Trevor Noah, Dwayne Johnson revealed that both the dominant political parties of the US had approached him to run for President. The Rock said that the party workers told him that they had conducted several opinion polls and the results heavily showed that he could win the elections.

However, Johnson turned down the offer from both parties. Aside from his distaste for politics, Dwayne Johnson said he doesn’t want to do something that would take all his time. The Rock noted that his career as a wrestler robbed him of his time with his daughter Simone Johnson.

As this is one of the major regrets in his life, he can’t afford the same for his daughters Jasmine and Tiana. However, he also mentioned that he isn’t completely against the idea of holding office at the White House if the people want it. Do you think The Rock would make a great President?
