WWE has been churning out some great games for years already. And the next installment, 2K24, is around the corner. The most exciting part of every WWE game is the overall ratings the company gives to our favorite wrestlers. In the last game, the head-turner was John Cena, as he was the poster boy with the highest overall ratings.

Now that the launch of WWE 2K24 is on the horizon, the ratings of numerous current WWE stars will indeed be under the microscope. With that, let’s just investigate who could be the top 5 guys in terms of ratings in the next installment.

John Cena is easily one of the most renowned bigwigs in the wrestling circuit. No WWE game can be made if ‘The Prototype’ is not in it. In its last edition, the 46-year-old was able to bag an overall rating of 94. Even though he fell behind many current WWE superstars, he could still raise the bar in WWE 2K24.

Remember, he has been hailed as the ‘GOAT’ multiple times by the WWE. Maybe this could be the trump card in increasing the ratings of John Cena this year, shifting him to the list of the top 5 highest-rated wrestlers. Will the 16-time world champion achieve the milestone? Time will tell.

CM Punk’s return might catapult him

CM Punk‘s return indeed made all wrestling fans go berserk. ‘The Second City Saint’ has been with the company for a month now, and it is highly possible that we could see him in the 2K24 game. Currently slated to battle Seth Rollins in the future, it could be possible that Punk gains a position in the top 5 spots.

Moreover, ever since he came back, fans have been singing his chants and many are even expecting that he could win the Royal Rumble. If that’s the case, CM Punk could surely bag a huge rating in the game and could be one of the kingpins on the 2K24 roster.

Don’t forget Cody Rhodes

But wait! No one should forget the name of ‘The American Nightmare’, Cody Rhodes. Believe it or not, despite not being able to finish Roman Reigns’ story at WrestleMania, Rhodes is still hailed as the guy who could end the Bloodline saga. Moreover, defeating the likes of Brock Lesnar and winning the tag team championship has only contributed to enhancing his stature.

Also, don’t ghost on this! He was an integral part of the winning team in the War games. Thus, there are a plethora of reasons that make Rhodes a probable contender to clinch the top-five spot in the forthcoming game. And who knows if he becomes the poster boy?

The World Heavyweight champion Seth Rollins

2023 was indeed a heck of a year for Seth Rollins. The current World Heavyweight Champion has been defending his title against a barrage of strong adversaries to date. In the last installment of the game, Rollins earned a rating of 92 and would be looking forward to seeing an extension in it.

Remaining the world champion throughout the year could even help the 37-year-old go above and beyond. Well, we have to wait and watch if Rollins does something emphatic eventually to boost himself to the top of the standing.

Our ‘Tribal Chief’ Roman Reigns

Let’s just shift our focus to one of the most dominant WWE champions of all time. Yes, you got that right. Roman Reigns could surely be among the top faces on the list. It will be hard to believe, but Reigns gained a colossal rating of 99 in the 2K23 edition, which was 4 more than what he got in the 2K22.

The amount of dominance he has shown as the leader of ‘The Bloodline’ is unparalleled. On top of that, he is still the undisputed champion and has convincingly crossed the 1200-day mark. However, the fact that he is not very frequent inside the ring could cut a few points from his rating in the 2K24. Moreover, he also lost some of the matches in 2023. If not 99, Reigns could still up the ante by at least scoring 97 in the 2K24 game.

One take at a time

Discussing what I witnessed on every episode of Raw with all my friends was what initially kept me connected with WWE. While everyone around me was gushing over John Cena, I was the only one rooting for 'The Best in the World' CM Punk. The best day was when my hero stood tall against theirs at the 2011 Money in the Bank PLE.
