Stone Cold Steve Austin is a name that will always remain special among the WWE Universe. The Texas Rattlesnake entertained the fans not only by his thrilling matches but also by his famous segments. Austin had done it all in professional wrestling.
In 1996, Austin won the King of the Ring tournament. He defeated Jake “The Snake” Roberts in the final round of the tournament. This victory played a major role in his path to superstardom, and Austin also cut the iconic 3:16 promo that evening.
In an episode of Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross talked about Steve Austin’s career. He talked about how it would look different for Steve Austin if had not got the win against Jake “The Snake” Roberts in the final of the King of the Ring tournament.

Jim Ross said, “It would look different. Everything ended up happening for a reason. He saw his chance, and he saw that he wasn’t going to miss it. He wasn’t going to drop the ball. That’s why there were so many issues where I need to speak with him.”
“Because I would listen good and he trusted me. We got through all that stuff and it wasn’t easy. Steve never laid down. He fought and fought until his agenda was addressed,” he added.

Stone Cold Steve Austin might return to WWE at WrestleMania 38
In 2003, the Texas Rattlesnake retired from in-ring action because of knee injuries and a neck injury. Since then, Austin had made sporadic appearances in WWE.

But Austin has not appeared in WWE since 2020. However, there might be some exciting news for Steve Austin fans.
According to WrestleVotes and some sources, WWE is interested in making Austin a meaningful part of WrestleMania 38, but not in a wrestling role.
Talked to a few different source this weekend & heard the same thing, WWE is very interested in having Steve Austin as a part of WrestleMania this year in Dallas. Not in a wrestling role, but a meaningful part of the event outside of just appearing. Up to creative at this point.

WrestleMania 38 will take place in Austin’s home state, Texas. It will indeed be exciting for the fans to see the Texas Rattlesnake back in WWE.

Back in 2016, the Texas Rattlesnake appeared in Texas for WrestleMania 32 along with Shawn Michaels and Mick Foley.
On that day, Austin even hit Wade Barrett and Rusev with the Stone Cold Stunner.
