This was WWE’s first-ever show in mainland Europe. It took place on 23rd October, 1987 at the sold-out  Bercy de Paris (now called Accor Arena) in Paris, France.

The main event was a match between Harley Race and Junkyard Dog. The main attraction for the match was having the local André the Giant as a special guest referee.

This was also the first time ever that Andre The Giant got to be part of a wrestling event in his home country on behalf of the WWE. The event had a total gathering of 12,000 people which is a huge crowd for a first time event, that too in the 80s. The capacity of the LDLC Arena where Backlash will take place in May 2024 is around 16,000. But what are your thoughts on WWE having it’s first ever PLE in France next year?
