“You May Not Agree”: Dwayne Johnson Gives a Fascinating Take on Black Adam’s Likeness to The Rock

Dwayne Johnson is having a tremendous run at the top of Hollywood with his movies. Starring in one hit after another, he is one of the industry’s most successful actors today. The actor has a golden touch when it comes to franchise movies and will be hoping to continue that when makes his debut for DC in the ‘Black Adam’ movie. Johnson, who cut his teeth in pro wrestling before becoming an actor, recently spoke about how his time in WWE helped him perfect the anti-hero character Black Adam.
The Rock’s career in WWE certainly set him up for a Hollywood career. After a few initial hiccups, he found his feet and is one of the biggest stars today.

Now, with the former WWE Champion set to feature in his first superhero movie, he has likened the Black Adam character to his popular WWE persona, ‘The Rock’.
Dwayne Johnson said WWE experience helped in Black Adam
Dwayne Johnson played the iconic character The Rock during much of his WWE career. In that time, he jumped from being the clean-cut babyface to a ‘cool heel’ before ultimately being the ‘People’s Champ’.
His last run saw him include the cocky heel elements into a face character which people absolutely loved. Recently, in an interview on Fandango All Access, he talked about how his WWE experience helped while playing Black Adam.

He explained initially it wasn’t easy for him to bring a character as complex as Black Adam to life, but his days in pro wrestling were helpful. The Rock talked about how he tapped into his WWE character while playing the anti-hero Black Adam.
He said this was similar to the role he was going to portray in the DC movie. He added, “So same thing, very similar to Black Adam. You may not agree with his philosophy, but at the end you do understand why.”

Anticipation is building up for Black Adam’s release on October 21. Apart from Dwayne Johnson, the movie features popular Hollywood actor Pierce Brosnan as ‘Doctor Fate’.
