WWE announced on Saturday that SummerSlam 2021 would take place at Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, on Saturday, August 21. The announcement took place during the 2021 Belmont Stakes pre-show race on June 5.

The event ticks quite a few boxes of milestones in the company. It marks the first time that SummerSlam would take place in an NFL stadium. For those who don’t know, Allegiant Stadium is the home ground of the Las Vegas Raiders.

It is also the first time since 1994 that SummerSlam would be held on a Saturday than the usual Sunday. The occasion also marks the first time that WWE held SummerSlam in a United States Stadium. The company previously had the PPV in the famed Wembley Stadium, London, for the 1992 edition.

WWE previously teased that it would move away from its programming. The event is the first live PPV in the year to have live crowds after WWE resumes touring on July 16.

The tickets will start at $25 and would go on sale on June 16. The event is expected to draw a sold-out crowd of around 72,000 fans. The fans and the officials are both overjoyed.

“The Raiders are thrilled to join WWE in hosting SummerSlam at Allegiant Stadium in August,” said Raiders President Marc Badain. “WWE is a leader in global entertainment, and to host one of its signature events in the Sports and Entertainment Capital of the World is a perfect fit.

As we mentioned earlier, Allegiant Stadium is the home stadium of Las Vegas Raiders, and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. It is one of the newer stadiums in America.

The construction is worth a massive $1.9 billion, and it began on November 13, 2017. The construction was complete last year amidst the pandemic. The sitting capacity is expandable up to 72,000 and WWE is expected to sell it all out.
