A couple of months ago, WWE inked a multi-year licensing deal with the NFL. The wrestling promotion collaborated with one of America’s biggest football sporting leagues in August. As per the deal, WWE released commemorative championship titles for each NFL team and made them available for the fans to buy.

The project was highly successful and both promotions made quite a profit from it. That being said, recent reports reveal that after a successful partnership with the NFL, the Stamford-based promotion is looking forward to signing another deal with another of America’s top athletic leagues.

After football, WWE has a similar deal in place with the NHL as well. According to a recent tweet on X by WrestleVotes, WWE, and NHL are set to release commemorative championship titles, building on the major success WWE had with the NFL.

The NHL championship titles will soon be purchasable through Fanatics in 2024. WWE released licensed championship belts for fans to purchase starting this year in August. But the promotion has been following the concept for a while now. The only difference is that they were being awarded to athletes in the past, and not sold as commodities.
