After the clip in which Johnson and his business partner Dany Garcia announced the merger went viral, Tom Brady shared the clip congratulating the team behind the joint effort. Along with that, he mentioned that this is a piece of great news for football. Seeing this message, Johnson replied to him saying, “Thank you, my brother. As always you are the 🐐.(G.O.A.T)” Long-time football fans could agree that Brady has been an influential figure in the American football world.

His contributions have been way similar to that of The Brahma Bull’s contributions to pro wrestling. It is obvious that one legend recognizes the other and Johnson referred to Brady in the message by the status football fans have given to him. The first season of the United Football League is set to kick off on March 30, 2024.

The news of the merger was first broken by Johnson and Dany Garcia on the December 31 episode of Fox NFL Sundays. While the two talked mostly about the motive behind the decision, how the two leagues will now function is slowly becoming public. As per reports, XFL’s former President and CEO, Russ Brandon, will be taking the position of President and CEO. He will be accompanied by USFL’s former President of Football Operations, Daryl Johnston. While Brandon will be leading the league, Johnston will look after the football operations of UFL.

The details about the players who will be signed by the league have not been out yet. However, it has been reported that the first match on March 30, 2024, will played between XFL’s Arlington Renegades and USFL’s Birmingham Stallions.
