Variety recently reported that WWE revealed almost 90% of last year’s WrestleMania participants came via the development route under the NXT banner. WrestleMania only features the best of the best. Former NXT superstars dominating the match card last year speaks volumes of the positive impact WWE’s developmental brand has on the promotion.

That said, let’s have a look at the superstars who wrestled in Mania 38 that were birthed by NXT.

Former NXT talent who participated in WrestleMania 38

WrestleMania 38 was a two-night event on April 2 and 3, 2022, at the AT&T Stadium in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex city of Arlington, Texas. The premium live event featured 16 matches, seven on the first night and nine on the second night. Some of the blockbuster matches earned acclaim while others didn’t receive the expected reactions.

Superstars who participated in the event that are also a by-product of WWE’s developmental brands were Shinsuke Nakamura, Baron Corbin, Bianca Belair, Becky Lynch, Seth Rollins, Charlotte Flair, Kevin Owens, The Street Profits, Matt Riddle, Sasha Banks, Sami Zayn, Carmella, Liv Morgan, Rhea Ripley, Shayna Baszler, Austin Theory, and Roman Reigns.

Whenever WWE signs a new talent, the promotion sends them to its developmental brand. In NXT, the new signees hone their skills and prepare themselves for the main event showdowns. But some superstars get direct access to the main roster, considering their name and fame in the wrestling industry.

NXT is Triple H’s brainchild which WWE introduced in 2010. Therefore, WWE has a lot to thank its COO. He innovated a foolproof mechanism to filter out the best of the best talents in the promotion. And those talents have and will uplift the Stamford-based promotion to glory.
