WWE Offers Low Money Contracts To Bring Back Released Superstars
Follow Us
A month ago several WWE Superstars were released as a part of budget-cutting measures. The worldwide pandemic forced the company to let many talents go, for good. However, the latest reports from Wrestling Observer Live suggest that many of the released Superstars have been offered new contracts.
How is WWE planning to bring the Superstars back?
Wrestlers coming back to WWE is always a good thing. This time, however, there is a massive downside to this. According to Bryan Alvarez, wrestlers who decided to come back will only receive a fraction of what they originally made. This means even with a return, their wages will be cut down to the lowest.

The report also stated that WWE has reached out to most Superstars with a contract offer. Given the very short wage, it is highly unlikely for the wrestlers to return to the company.

Will Impact Wrestling and AEW cash in on the opportunity?
Rival promotions can take up this huge opportunity. AEW has already brought in many former WWE Superstars. Two of the released stars also happens to be former Impact Wrestling Champions – EC3 and Eric Young.
These two wrestlers could go back to Impact given their history and the success they enjoyed at their previous promotion.
Another big name on the list of released stars is Rusev. Any promotion would be more than happy to add him to their roster. He is the first and only Bulgarian wrestler ever to have worked with WWE. In addition, he has had a decent run with the company considering the three United States Championship reigns to his name.

Lio Rush is also someone who left, however, the chances of him making his way back to the promotion seem bleak. He has decided to focus on a musical career at the moment.
Drake Maverick, another former Impact Wrestling star surprisingly signed back with WWE. The details behind the contracts have not been disclosed yet. Therefore one cannot know for certain if he agreed to a wage cut.
Superstars would love working for WWE, but making just a fraction of what they did before is truly discouraging.

Other promotions could lure the stars in, and this would be a huge blow for the company. WWE might pull off something surprising, but that remains to be seen.
