After getting deported from Australia, Novak Djokovic had to pause his competitive matches at the beginning of the season. But that didn’t stop the world’s number-one player from bouncing back with his greatest form ever. As a result, the tennis fraternity witnessed the historic performance of this 36-year-old tennis stalwart.

Djokovic might not have a great start during 2022. His decision about vaccination during COVID-19 brought him some disappointments as he couldn’t travel to many countries to attend tournaments. However, Djokovic didn’t waste his time and trained to perform even better in the season of 2023.

Djokovic mentioned how it really mattered to him to secure his number-one position in world tennis along with breaking his own records! Confident Djokovic said- “Of course, I’m thrilled with the season. But one more match to go. Hopefully I can crown the season with another win.”

Djokovic’s statement might have not surprised his fans because recently he had an epic victory against Carlos Alcaraz. Djokovic defeated Alcaraz by 6-3 and 6-2, which rewarded him with his ninth participation at the ATP Tournament finals. While Alcaraz started a great fight by trying to break in the first two services of Djokovic, the latter bounced back by snatching straight four points. Despite great resistance, Alcaraz’s numerous errors led to the victory of the 36-year-old tennis maestro. Following this win, Djokovic will finally face Italy’s Jannik Sinner at the finals of the Nitto ATP 2023 tournament.
