New York’s hot and humid weather has taken a toll on the players at this year’s US Open. From Ons Jabeur to Chris Eubanks, the unfavorable conditions haven’t spared anyone. As the players were struggling all throughout the tournament, the former World Number 1, Novak Djokovic, played against local favorite, Taylor Fritz, in the quarterfinals. Unlike his previous matches, Djokovic’s quarterfinal clash took place in the afternoon, the time when temperatures soar, along with the humidity. This invited criticism from a diehard fan of the Serbian legend. As the fan was hinting at a presumed bias towards the Djoker, American legend Andy Roddick couldn’t hold back from giving a strong response.
Let’s take a look at the social media banter that ensued after the schedule was out.

A Novak Djokovic fan named Danny took to Twitter to raise concerns about the Serb’s quarterfinal schedule. While Fritz is the local star, Djokovic will be bracing for unfavorable weather conditions.
As a result, the Djokovic fan suggested that the roof of the stadium should be closed to protect the players from the heat, which was done for Alcaraz’s match. This started a banter between Roddick and the fan, as the former said that the roof was closed during the Spaniard’s match because there was rain.

Subsequently, the fan went on, stating information about health advisory. Finally, Roddick shut down the fan with a strong response, saying, “Listen I’m not gonna try to stop you from preemptively pretending that there’s a reason to feel like a victim of roofs and scheduling, but it’s not based on any precedent. I’m also not gonna pretend your opinion is based on logic and not 100 percent your fandom. Be well.”
