Emilia Clarke plays the role of Queen Daenerys Targaryen in HBO’s fantasy TV series, Game of Thrones. The queen is fondly called the mother of dragons as she raises three dragons and also rides them. While shooting the sequence where she was with the dragons, the VFX team wanted the sequence to look more maternal. Here, they used a tennis ball on a stick to create a realistic feel.

Here’s what the Pixomondo effects supervisor, Sven Martin, revealed about the shooting sequence.

“While filming, Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys, initially used puppet stand-ins called “stuffier” and even a tennis ball on stick to help create a sense of physical interaction,” he said.
