Alexander Zverev and Stefanos Tsitsipas have one of the best rivalries in tennis. Prior to the semifinal, Tsitsipas led the German 6-2 in head-to-head games. However, Zverev utilized his fine form from the Olympic victory and won a third set tiebreaker.

Tsitsipas was taking too long in returning from his bathroom breaks during the game, which frustrated the German. He complained to the chair umpire as well regarding the issue, which was unprofessional. The match ended in a light manner as things did not deteriorate between the two players.

The previous meeting proves the intensity of the meetup between Zverev and Tsitsipas. It was a five setter between the two on a hot day in Paris when Stefanos emerged victorious. The duo have had some intense and fierce battles over the years. Although Tsitsipas enjoys the record against Zverev, it will be the German who will be fighting for his fourth title of the year.

Zverev going for gold at Cincinnati

As a major step towards finding his form at the US Open, Zverev will need to win the final at Cincinnati. He will be playing against Andrey Rublev of Russia, who beat number one seed Daniil Medvedev. Zverev will also be aiming for a fourth title under his belt this year and look to be a favorite at the US Open.

Zverev, 2020 US Open finalist will be looking to amend his performance this year. He lost to Dominic Thiem last year, who will not be playing in New York this year.
