Nick Kyrgios outlasted fourth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-7(2), 6-4, 6-3, 7-6(7) to reach the fourth round at Wimbledon on Saturday. However, the talking point came after Tsitsipas hit a ball into the stands, narrowly missing a fan. After the incident, Kyrgios demanded that his Greek opponent be defaulted for hitting the ball into the crowd.

Tsitsipas even admitted to aiming a shot at his opponent during the intense battle. However, Kyrgios did not take too kindly to his opponent’s attitude on the court.

Kyrgios blasts Tsitsipas after impressive win

The Australian was frustrated on several occasions, complaining to the chair umpire after every game. After his second consecutive win over Tsitsipas, Kyrgios spoke in the post match presser saying, “He’s got some serious issues. I’m good in the locker room.”

“I’ve got many friends…he’s not liked. Let’s just put that there,” he added. Tsitsipas later revealed that the handshake at the end was just a reflection of his tennis and not his attitude. “Attitude-wise, if there was a handshake for that, I would definitely be walking away from it, and that’s how it is. It’s not acceptable in any way.”
