“His Brain is Underrated”: Coach Details the Major Attributes Behind Roger Federer’s Success

It was surely a disappointing moment for fans when Roger Federer withdrew from the Australian Open 2021. Fans were desperately waiting for this Grand Slam in order to witness the return of the Swiss maestro. However, they will still have to wait a little longer since Federer is still recovering from his knee injury.

There is no doubt that Federer is one of the greatest players in the history of tennis. His domination even at the age of almost 40 is unparalleled. Experts have tried to decode it many times but haven’t been able to figure out what that special quality is that makes Federer such a great player.

Recently, former World No. 3 and Federer’s coach Ivan Ljubicic revealed the attribute that is behind Federer’s success according to him. Ljubicic was asked to talk about one on and one off-court attribute.

“On court he is intelligent and off the court he is intelligent,” began the coach. “I think his brain, his brain, is just underrated.”

Ljubicic clearly believes that Federer has quite a sharp mind. He mentioned that his intelligence was one of the reasons for his massive success over the past years.

The coach also called Federer a genius on and off the court. He further said that it was because of this reason that Federer was the greatest player of all time for him.

“I mean, he’s a genius on court and off the court. That’s what makes him the greatest, in my opinion,” added Ljubicic.

Ljubicic has been coaching Federer since 2016. Right now, his primary focus is certainly to bring Federer on the court as soon as possible. He certainly believes that Federer has still got some tennis left in him and can easily push for another Grand Slam title.
