“Wolverine” Hugh Jackman is one of the biggest fans of tennis ace Novak Djokovic. That is why on his visit to the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City, where the US Open takes place annually, he imitated the Serbian World No.1. Interestingly, the Australian actor also got to hold and kiss the US Open championship trophy.
Previously, Jackman had challenged Djokovic to a tennis match on Twitter. Besides, he frequently follows the Serbian ace’s tennis career; Jackman also congratulated Djokovic on winning his 20th Grand Slam title in Wimbledon this year. So how could “the Greatest Showman” actor forget his favorite player at the biggest tennis stadium in the world?

Hugh Jackman imitates Novak Djokovic at the US Open
The Hollywood star felt the nerves as he walked through the door and onto the Arthur Ashe Stadium. Jackman also read the famous Billie Jean King quote inscribed at the entrance, “Pressure is a privilege.”
Fascinatingly, the 53-year-old actor posted the video on his official Instagram account. He captioned it, “Thank you, Jay and Kelly, for the most awesome afternoon ever!”

In addition to the video, Jackman also uploaded a roaring picture in his Instagram story. Although he tried to imitate Novak Djokovic, he admitted that it was “not exactly” like the Serbian ace.

The 34-year-old tennis star had history on stake at the US Open this year. Though he reached the finals, Djokovic couldn’t complete the Calendar Grand Slam as he lost to Daniil Medvedev. Funnily enough, Jackman did his bit in the Arthur Ashe stadium.
Hopefully, the 20-time Grand Slam champion will one day accept Jackman’s proposal for a tennis match. Indeed, it is a day many fans in the world would want to happen soon.
Where will Djokovic play next in 2021?

Following the US Open loss, Djokovic went straight back to business, clinching a record-extending sixth Paris Masters title. Along with that, he became a record-breaking seventh-time year-end World No.1 player.
From here on, the Serbian ace will travel to Turin to compete at the season-ending ATP Finals. Even there, he will aim to win a record-equalling sixth year-ending finale.
