Things haven’t been going according to the plans of Jannik Sinner this season. The Italian tennis sensation has failed to make it to the closing stages of the tournaments this year. Moreover, the 20-year-old hasn’t been able to proceed beyond the quarterfinal stage of the tournaments in 2022.

Further, in the recently concluded French Open, Sinner reached the fourth round before retiring midway in his match against Andrey Rublev. After the tournament, the Italian had some changes to his technical staff.

Jannik Sinner’s partnership with physiotherapist Paolo Cadamuro ends

Paolo Cadamuro was forced to end his working relationship with Sinner owing to his health-related problems. He took to Instagram to announce this news, saying, “A little intervention interrupts a big dream. It was a fantastic experience. Good luck in your career.”

Moreover, it had been just over three months since Cadamuro started working with Sinner. During the time, the Italian had suffered a number of injuries that forced him to retire midway through several tournaments.

After Sinner bid adieu to Cadamuro, Jerome Bianchi joined his technical staff as a physiotherapist. Bianchi earlier worked for world number five, Stefanos Tsitsipas. Additionally, he has also worked for the likes of Stan Wawrinka and Maria Sharapova.

After the 20-year-old retired in his pre-quarterfinal match against Andrey Rublev at the French Open 2022, he opened up about his injury. Sinner said, “It happened that I felt quite good or quite okay in the first set. And then after, at 2-1 when I was serving, I felt a big, I don’t know how you call it, yeah, something. And from that point, I felt it too much and then I was hoping that it’s going to go away, but it didn’t.”

Nonetheless, Sinner will be hoping to get back fit in time for the Wimbledon Championships later this month. He had a disappointing result at the tournament last year, losing against Marton Fucsovics in the opening round.
