“Make Him Tired”: Roberto Bautista Agut Reveals the Strategy to Defeat Novak Djokovic

World No.1 Novak Djokovic recently entered the quarter-finals of the Wimbledon Championships 2021. Facing Cristian Garin in the pre-quarters, Djokovic crushed his opponents in straight sets and never looked uncomfortable during the match. Interestingly, he gave away just eight games in the entire match. The final scoreline of the match was 6-2, 6-4, 6-2.
In a recent interview, Roberto Bautista Agut shared his experience of playing against Novak Djokovic. The Spaniard has beaten Djoker on three occasions and revealed what it takes to defeat the World No.1 player.
‘I think when you have to play him, you have to be patient,“ said Agut in the interview.

Bautista Agut clearly reflected that in order to beat Nole, one must be patient. The World No.10 player also played quite well at the Wimbledon Championships 2021 but suffered a humiliating defeat against Denis Shapovalov in the pre-quarters of the Grand Slam.

“Have to play long rallies to make him tired”- Roberto Bautista Agut on how to defeat Novak Djokovic consistently
According to Bautista Agut, one needs to play long rallies so that he could make Djokovic tired. Once he is tired, it becomes easy to take points away from him. Agut highlighted that this technique was very effective when he managed to battle past Djoker on the court.
“You have to play long rallies to make him tired. That’s what I did when I play him,” added the Spaniard.
