Two contrasting personalities, Nick Kyrgios and Roberto Bautista Agut, battled each other in the US Open 2021 opening round. Consequently, the Louis Armstrong Stadium saw the two exhibit their exceptional qualities on the court. However, Kyrgios had some complaints about the court conditions.
Since the Aussie star is one of the biggest servers in the sport, fast hard courts suit his game the most. Typically, hard courts in Flushing Meadows do deliver fast-paced matches. But, it is the night session, where the courts turn a bit slower than during the daytime.
Expressing his mind loudly, Kyrgios stated the courts were ‘not playing fast enough.‘ As a result, the Spaniard Bautista Agut took advantage of the conditions as the Aussie’s serve took a colossal blow.
