“I wanna see what Andy Murray can give to Djoker that he hasn’t had in the past.” We feel you, Jimmy Connors. Serbian Novak Djokovic has hyped the community with his exciting coaching partnership with arch-rival and former World No. 1 Murray. As the duo prepares their agenda for the Australian Open 2025, Connors and his son hilariously extended anticipation over the iconic pair’s long-drawn history of yelling at their player’s box.
It’ll be fair to say that Nole had a ‘mid’ conclusion to his 2024 campaign. Other than his gold medal feat at the Paris Olympics, the 37-year-old fell short of clinching any tour-level triumph. His quest for a record-breaking eighth Wimbledon title was thwarted by Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz for the second consecutive time, and, then World No. 1 Jannik Sinner defeated him in the Shanghai Masters final. Despite modest results, what has remained constant is Djokovic venting out at his team when he’s irked with his performance.
We’ve seen it abundantly in the past and, Djokovic isn’t the only player who does it out of frustration. His latest coach, Andy Murray, was also known to shout at his players’ box whenever in distress, hoping to find solace and reaffirmation during testing times. With both players now teamed up, former World No. 1 Connors’ noted how a player’s team handles the pressure under such situations.

The roles are now reversed and Murray will now spectate Djokovic’s contests in Melbourne. Jimmy and his son, Brett Connors, amusingly stated, “The thing I can’t wait for is the first time Djoker gets down a break or loses a set and he turns to the box and yells at Murray. And Murray’s been the guy famous for yelling at his box. That’s gonna be fun. Wonder how he’s gonna handle it.”

However, by the looks of it, it seems as if the Brit is already annoyed at Djokovic. Merely days into their newfound alliance, the 3-time Major winner was forced to send a cheeky response to the Serbian star’s ‘unsanctioned’ vacay at the F1 racepit.
Novak Djokovic apologizes following coach Andy Murray’s reprimand
Serbian superstar Novak Djokovic added more glitter to his list of lucrative sponsors after Qatar Airways announced him as a global brand ambassador a few days ago. With the players making the most out of their offseason, Nole jetted to witness the Qatar Grand Prix and later, spent fun moments with several F1 drivers in their backyard. However, seeing Djokovic spend quality time with the racing stars didn’t sit well with Murray.

The Briton immediately took to his social media to take a playful dig at the 37-year-old. “He should be on the practice court”, subsequently, Nole responded with good humor and reaffirmed his coach saying, “Sorry coach, I will be back soon”.

With the 2025 season coming, it’s a fair estimate to say that Djokovic and Murray will work towards formulating a game plan that will serve as an effective tactic against rivals like Alcaraz and Sinner at the Melbourne Slam.
