Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic are the two names in tennis that have garnered a lot of attention this season. With two singles Grand Slam titles already under his name, the young Spaniard has established himself among the leading figures on the men’s tour. On top of this, the 20-year-old has also attained ‘the world No. 1 player’ status after his first major triumph in the previous season.

His Serbian rival, on the other hand, has also made headlines owing to his record-equalling feat. After winning three major tournaments this season, the ‘Djoker’ now has 24 Grand Slam titles, the most on the ATP and WTA tours. The outstanding accomplishments of Djokovic and Alcaraz during this period have helped them gain recognition on an elite list featuring the likes of LeBron James and Cristiano Ronaldo.

A Reddit user recently brought to light the ‘most wanted athletes’ list that is formulated on the basis of the ranking of searches for athletes in a particular season. The highly coveted list is dominated by soccer stars including Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Kylian Mbappé, Lionel Messi, and Erling Haaland.

From the NBA community, it is Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James who is in 4th place with a total of 72.1 million searches. Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic, on the other hand, are representing tennis on the elite list, as they have also garnered a number of searches on Google as well as on social networks.

With a total of 60 million searches, the 20-year-old is sitting in the 7th spot while surpassing his Serbian rival on the list. The ‘Djoker’ is the seventh most searched athlete in the sporting community, with a total of 58.4 million searches on different platforms.

While the Spaniard may have overtaken Djokovic in this accomplishment, the Serb holds the upper hand in another notable list that includes some elite athletes.

The ‘Djoker’ has made it to the list of ‘Most Marketable Athletes,’ which is determined based on factors including market, economics, and brand strength. While many big names in the tennis circuit have missed out on the top 20 rankings, the 24-time singles Grand Slam champion has found himself in 11th place on the notable list. Carlos Alcaraz, on the other hand, is not included in the top 50 rankings as he is positioned in 54th place.
