With the sport getting more competitive with each passing day, it is a common sight of players losing their temper. One such incident took place minutes ago at the ATP 500 Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships. Russian tennis star, Andrey Rublev, was heard swearing at a linesman in his native language. Subsequently, he was defaulted and his opponent, Alexander Bublik entered the summit clash. This incident went viral on social media and hundreds of fans reacted to it.
It reminded some fans of Novak Djokovic losing his temper at the Australian Open. One of the fans commented, “only if you’re djokovic in australia is it allowed.”

Meanwhile, another fan agreed with the fact that Andrey Rublev was defaulted, saying, “No excuse for berating a line umpire like that. If Djokovic was defaulted for a similar infraction at the US Open (albeit in his case, it was unintentional), then it’s only fair that Rublev got defaulted. There’s already a precedent. Same standards should be applied to all.”

Andrey Rublev and his show of anger
The incident took place when Rublev was trailing 6-5 in the final set of his semifinal encounter against Bublik. During the change of ends, he smashed his racket and screamed in the face of a linesman. Subsequently, he was accused of swearing in by a translator and handed a default. Later, Rublev denied those charges and revealed that he didn’t speak Russian during the incident.
