Carlos Alcaraz stopped Novak Djokovic from equaling Margaret Court’s Grand Slam record while winning his first Wimbledon Championships title. After the undefeatable’s winning streak was destroyed with swift strokes, Alcaraz became the talk of the town. Legends like Mats Wilander, John McEnroe, and Roger Federer admired his skill even before his Wimbledon win. It is not his talent alone that makes the Spaniard a potential game-changer for Tennis. If there were an Olympic medal for humility and simplicity, Alcaraz would come only next to Federer.

The ATP 1st seed’s answers are so thoughtful and well-structured that make even the stones melt. His recent interview proved why he is one of the most adorable players among his rivals, too, as he backs them up against the statement of Rafael Nadal’s former coach.

In an interview with ‘El Pais,’ Alcaraz talked about how it was difficult to beat players of his generation, too, besides Djokovic. The interviewer asked the Spaniard’s thoughts on Toni Nadal’s statement. Rafa’s ex-coach remarked that no player except the Serb could outdo Alcaraz, given his excellent form.

Responding to this, Alcaraz said, “Every time I play [Jannik] Sinner, for example, he raises his level to one hundred percent, and I do the same; he’s beaten me and I’ve beaten him in big battles… Holger [Rune] is also there, so there are a lot of guys who can beat me and match me. That’s tennis.”

The young ATP star ensures to leave the imprints of his modesty wherever he goes. His peers have only good things to say about him. Alcaraz stated that many players could beat him, and every opponent is unique as they display different levels of the game by employing various tactics.

The two-time Slam champion said, “It is very difficult to play at a very high level throughout the year and all the tournaments, so I think there are many players who are there. I have the head-to-head against Felix [Auger-Aliassime] and against some other players, and I have difficulties because in the end each opponent is different and some can hurt me more than others.”

Alcaraz made sure to include all his present rivals by taking their names and appreciating them for their game. In a conversation with the ATP Tour website, the young champion said that he would want to be remembered as more than a Tennis player, as a person with good values. He hopes to implement all the values his parents taught him as he prioritizes his peers because they are the ones he spends more time with.

According to Facundo Bagnis, Frances Tiafoe, Jannik Sinner, and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, Alcaraz is not only one of the best Tennis players but also a great human. The 20-year-old has already made it big in his career and is in everybody’s good books. The Spaniard still has a long way to go, and the tales of his modesty and success will only increase with his age.
