After defeating the Serbian twice within the same day, Sinner feels proud, not just for himself but for his team too. “Obviously before the match we were talking that it was a really important test today, you know, trying to understand what to expect before the match. Then I think we made a good tactical moment also before the match, and then obviously playing it is a little bit different but I think I have to be really proud about how I handle the situation,” said Sinner after defeating the Serbian twice.

“I’m just very happy for all of us, for the team, and tomorrow we have a great opportunity. We know this, but in the other way, we will try to stay as relaxed as possible, you know, keeping a smile in our head, which is important also, and then also to be happy to be here, no?” he further continued.

Djokovic was leading the set 5-4 and had a completable 3-match point lead. It seemed like a victory for Djokovic could be certain. However, it was Sinner who took matters into his own hands saved the match points and turned things around in an instant. With this, he managed to win the decider set 7-5 and left things to be decided in the final match. Thus, Jannik Sinner played his heart out against Djokovic and came out victorious at the end.
