‘The Next Phase of My Life’ – Novak Djokovic Already Planning for Post Retirement Investments

Investment is the next move of anyone who has established themselves well in their career. One of the greatest examples of this is the NBA legend, Shaquille O’Neal. O’Neal’s financial planning has helped him attain over $1 billion. Similarly, Serena Williams has also diversified her portfolio as she invests in several businesses. Following suit is Novak Djokovic, who has discussed investing in his future in order to have a good financial hold after he retires.
Novak Djokovic following Serena Williams?
In a recent live discussion on Entrepreneur Middle East with host Becky Anderson, Djokovic discussed his plans for the future. ‘Djoker’ talked about his interest in a venture capital business and setting up a fund with Dubai as the base. Djokovic considers himself relatively new to the field, although he says he has been investing for over 10 years now.

As Djoker prepared to talk about his interests, he gave the audience a brief backstory about his presence. He was attending the event for his 20th anniversary of playing in Dubai, as well as discussing his plans for the next part of his life. “Very excited to talk about myself, my journey, my foundation and the sectors and areas of interest of investment that is the next phase of my life.”

The Serb wants to invest in start-ups since he relishes the process of building something from the ground up. “I’ve learned a lot of lessons from that experience, and I like the excitement of building something from the scratch and really doing it from the base up.”
The Djoker went on to add that he favors start-ups since he can draw a parallel to his life. “I can draw a parallel to my life and to my career to this process of constructing an individual, a vehicle or a business or a project, considering all steps and then seeing it come to fruition is something really exciting.”

Continuing the conversation, Novak Djokovic said that the primary base for his funding would be Dubai. He has drawn up a business team which has looked into investing in the UAE.
“As we speak, my business team is looking to consideration of different locations to set up a VC fund as I’ve said, and Dubai is probably the priority to this. We talk about Dubai and how important it is for me as a tennis player.”

Why does Djokovic wants to build in Dubai?
In the same segment, Djokovic spoke his mind about how he feels towards Dubai. He felt that he has been using Dubai as a training cap and his main destination. Therefore, his eyes are set on investing in Dubai because of the culture of the place.

“I’ve been using Dubai as a training base, as a training camp. I’ve been using Dubai as a tourism destination. I want to now explore the possibility of having Dubai as a place of business investments because of the culture.”
Several businesses worldwide will rush to find themselves in favor of Novak Djokovic. Him as brand ambassador would skyrocket any business’ stock among its customers. The Serb has little to worry about his success in this line.
