Fish’s response to Ram’s absence
Rajeev Ram did not hold back on his disappointment at not being selected. “I’m very disappointed. I put in a lot of hard work this year to help the team get there,” said Ram. “Felt like I had earned the spot…was hoping to be on the team for sure.”
In what fans are saying as an arrogant comeback, Fish does not regret his decision. Before the match on Thursday, he said, “Obviously he [Rajeev Ram] is one of the best players in the world. But matching, putting a team together isn’t as simple as just taking a player that’s ranked high and put him with another player and just hope that they do well.” However, keeping in mind the unfortunate turn of events, fans expected Fish to express regret over his decisions.

After the match, Fish came out with the statement, “He wasn’t on the team this year, and that’s my choice…so if anyone has an issue with that, that’s on me…if Rajeev was here or not, those guys were going to win today. They played well and they’re too good.”
