In the fifth game, Dimitrov had taken the advantage and was one step away from breaking Medvedev. However, the Russian was not ready to give up. Both the players played some really creative shots in a 32-shot long rally that included a couple of fine slices, powerful forehands, and some great backhands as well.
However, it was Dimitrov who won the point and stole the show with a lovely single-hand backhand. It was like a typical Roger Federer backhand which he hits at the baseline of his opponent after applying tremendous power into it. Medvedev had absolutely no chance of returning that backhand and thus, lost the game.

Medvedev has played really well in the 2021 season so far. He ended up as the runner-up of the Australian Open 2021 but then went on to win the Open 13 title.
Even though the Russian once again struggled to play well on clay, he improved his performance on the surface and managed to reach the quarters of the French Open 2021. The grass-court season didn’t turn out to be a great one for Medvedev as he failed to win any title. However, he regained his form and recently won the Canadian Open 2021 title.
