Taylor Fritz and Alexander Zverev faced each other in a five-setter match on Monday. The American star made an amazing return from two sets down to defeat Zverev in the match. But more than the thrills of the game, what caught the attention of the fans was the celebration that Fritz’s girlfriend made after his victory. 

Taylor Fritz’s girlfriend Morgan Riddle celebrated the beau’s victory and termed that it was “for the girls.” Taking to her Instagram story, she posted a video of her enjoying a drink, and captioned it, “when your man wins 4 the girls.” However, this simple appearing story raised the eyebrows of Zverev fans who assumed it to be a dig at the German over the physical abuse case he has been part of recently. Riddle has now come out in her defense of her statements.

Taking to her Instagram story, Riddle clarified that her previous posts were blown out of proportion and have now been deleted. “Regarding my stories yesterday…I took them down as soon as I realized the misunderstanding and how blown out of proportion they had become by the media.” She further clarified that it was not against anyone and did not have any malicious intent. “They were not about anything that’s happened off the tennis court and there’s no bad blood between anyone. Super proud of t for the match yesterday, thank you to the crowd for the support & looking forward to tomorrow.”

Earlier, Sascha was accused in court documents of physically ab*sing his girlfriend Brenda Patea in 2020. While he agreed to pay $217,820 in an out-of-the-court settlement, many have continued to speak against him. He was also charged similarly by his other ex-girlfriend Olga Sharypova. Meanwhile, the tussle between Zverev and Fritz’s team is not limited to off-court feuds.

‘They were a bit…’ Alexander Zverev’s angry response to Taylor Fritz’s team

The German tennis star faced a shocking defeat that ended his Wimbledon campaign. Soon after defeat, what followed was a series of angry reactions from the World No.4, especially against the team of his opponent player, Taylor Fritz.

Speaking after the defeat in the post-match interview, Zverev accused that some members of Fritz’s team were a bit ‘over the top.’ “His team is extremely respectful. I think his coach, his physio, also his second coach, they’re extremely respectful,” Zverev said. “I think there’s some other people that maybe are in the box that are not maybe from the tennis world, that are not maybe from particularly watching every single match. They were a bit over the top.”

As the season progresses, it will be interesting to see if the German star can achieve bigger in the Paris Olympics and then at the US Open.
