The opening Grand Slam of the year is already in its second week and we have witnessed some mouth-watering encounters so far. January 24, 2022, is a special day at the Australian Open. The Grand Slam is celebrating the very first Australian Open Pride Day to symbolize diversity and inclusion.

Further, tennis stars like Gael Monfils, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Ashleigh Barty, and others had some nice words to share at this event.

Ashleigh Barty, Tsitsipas and others react as Australian Open celebrates Pride Day

The players welcomed this initiative by Tennis Australia. World Number 4 Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece welcomed the fans to the Australian Open Pride Day. Local favorite and World Number 1 Ashleigh Barty gave her views on Pride Day. She said, “A day we can all come together, accept one another for who we are, love each other.”

Tennis Australia has organized a first-ever Pride Day at the Australian Open 2022 on Monday. The event aims to showcase diversity and inclusion and is designed to be a joyful celebration of the diverse LGBTQ+ community. It focuses on educating the fans on the diverse colors of the universe.

Further, Tennis Australia has organized pre-match entertainment wherein Jack Vidgen will be performing ‘You will Be Found’ from the hit musical movie ‘Dear Evan Hansen’. Moreover, Rod Laver Arena will be lit up at night in rainbow colors.
