While the NBA looks down on violent conduct, Anthony Davis openly defended LeBron James after his mid-game against the Pistons. They started this fight when LeBron harshly boxing out Stewart on the rebound of a free throw. This resulted in Stewart bleeding and getting riled up. Anthony Davis feels that while what LeBron did was not dirty, he was unsure of what Stewart wanted to do.

Clearly, Stewart was angry because he felt things LeBron was boxing him out too strong and he clearly was. However, does that justify his response of raising arms and charging towards LeBron? Here’s what Anthony Davis had to say about that.

Anthony Davis defends LeBron James after mid-game brawl and ejection

After the heated brawl which resulted in an ejection for LeBron James, his close teammate Anthony Davis publicly defends him. In the post-game press interviews, the Lakers’ star Anthony Davis backed LeBron for not being ‘a dirty guy’. He further claimed that while it was LeBron who might have caused the bleeding but it was Stewart who was escalating the situation.

As seen in many footages, it was Stewart who was consistently charging at LeBron after he caused him to bleed.

What does this mean for Davis and the teams?

While the Detroit Pistons had the Lakers down by 15 points at the end of the third quarter, they could not hold on to this lead. Hence they fell to a 4-12 record in the East. Although, Anthony Davis and Cade Cunnigham were arguably the best players on the court for both teams. Cunningham had a 13 point triple-double while Davis had a thirty-point double-double.

Clearly shows that both the teams have moved on from their conventional styles of relying solely on Jerami Grant and LeBron James to carry the teams.
