He has even coached and arguably made Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry who they are today.

Therefore, he has seen and played a significant role in a huge portion of what fans would refer to as the modern-day NBA. From the development of the three-point shot to orchestrating its revolution with the Splash Brothers.

Hence, it would not be easy for someone who played with that many legends and has spent more than half his life in the NBA to pinpoint the most impressive incident he witnessed. Nevertheless, Kerr was very impressed with Klay’s record-setting 37 point quarter vs Kings a few years ago.

Steve Kerr’s surprising remarks about Klay Thompson

While talking to the media post-game, Kerr said, “I was one of the luckiest NBA players ever to play with Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, David Robinson, and some of the greatest players ever,”. Further, he added, “As many spectacular things as Michael did, which he did nightly, I never saw him do that.”

Klay’s 37 point quarter culminated into a 52 point performance vs Kings. In that quarter, the man did not miss. He went 13 for 13 from the field including 9 of 9 from the three-point range.

What did this mean for Steve Kerr and the Warriors?

There have been so many iconic performances by the likes of Jordan, Kobe, Tim Duncan, and LeBron in the NBA. However, Kerr still felt that Klay‘s single-quarter performance was the most impressive one he had seen. He even described it as a religious experience from the courtside for him.
