“Where Is Anthony Davis?”: Lakers Fans Worried as LeBron James’ Partner Limits Appearances

The Los Angeles Lakers last season were one of the favorites to win the 2020-21 title. With a deep roster centered around the dynamic duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis, the Purple and Gold had acquired a decent enough supporting cast.
While the expectations were high on the Purple and Gold, all of it came crashing down in the playoffs. With LeBron James who was surely not a 100% and Anthony Davis still hurt by a knock or two, the Lakers did manage to take a 2-1 lead in the series.
But in game 4, AD suffered from yet another injury, this time to his groin. With an ailing LeBron on the floor, the Lakers’ looked like a shadow of their 2020 championship run and ultimately crashed out of the playoffs in the very first round.

i can’t tell if he has any motivation anymore. I’m a huge kentucky fan and that was hard for me to say. Lebron needs to tell Ad to get off gta and cod and get in the LAB with him

Lakers’ fans are rightly worried about their superstar big man. Davis over the years has had a sketchy history in terms of injuries. Be it the ankle injury that AD suffered against the Nuggets last season or the groin injury in the playoffs, the big man couldn’t play a continuous stretch of games last season.

While LeBron James is still a top performer, he needs another superstar like Anthony Davis who can step up in the most crucial moments of the game. Russell Westbrook can be a good go to second option, but his struggles in playoffs is well-documented.
Whenever AD is healthy, the Lakers undoubtedly are an unstoppable force. With a much deeper squad, all the weight won’t be on Bron and AD’s shoulders thus giving them time to recoup. Can Anthony Davis win his second championship with the Lakers this season?
