In a world captivated by superheroes in comic books and movies, some fathers possess extraordinary qualities that make them the first superheroes in their children’s lives. When that father happens to be someone like Arnold Schwarzenegger– a renowned actor, bodybuilder, and former governor, the impact is even more profound. One of the most memorable and enriching experiences for children is when fathers take them to their workplace, as this unique opportunity allows them to witness their fathers in action and gain insights into their professional lives.

Talking along the same lines, Arnold Schwarzenegger recently revealed that he used to take his kids to the sets of his movies all the time. While witnessing their dad indulging in action scenes surely was fun for the kids, it once proved to be a terrible decision as well.

What was the horrific incident that scared the kids?

Ahead of the release of his new TV series FUBAR, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Monica Barbaro were interviewed recently by cinemablend.com. During the interview, Schwarzenegger disclosed that he and his ex-wife Maria Shriver used to bring their kids to shoot very often. “My kids came to the set all the time, and they watched me blow up things, watched me killing endless amounts of people, shooting them up and stabbing them to death and all this kind of stuff–driving over their bodies, blowing up buildings.”

He also revealed that Maria once brought Katherine (Arnold’s eldest child) to the set of a movie that Arnie was working on at that time. “I remember she’s seeing me with this half skull, and with blood running down and half human being, you know, my face. I mean, imagine a one-year-old baby seeing her dad like that! It was freak-out city. She started screaming and crying and freaking out,” stated Arnold.

In his autobiography, Schwarzenegger mentioned that he made a huge mistake with his first child. He was too involved in his professional life at the moment that “a nanny came into the picture.” However, ‘The Austrian Oak’ realized his mistake and tried to not repeat this mistake ever again with the rest of the kids.

Schwarzenegger learned from his mistakes

Arnold mentioned in the book that he took care of this, moving on as a parent. He wrote, “I put my foot down from Day One.” He made sure to take out time from his busy schedule and be around at night at least, after winding up all his work. “When Maria finished breastfeeding Christina, I would take the baby from her immediately and put her on my chest,” revealed Schwarzenegger.

Schwarzenegger mentioned that his daughter would rest on his chest and the pair used to sleep together. He ensured to not roll over in his sleep. He stated, “Nature had built in that safeguard.” He became a light sleeper and woke up instantly whenever he heard the baby making even the slightest of noises.

This instance is an indication of how good of a parent Arnold tried to be.
