In the video, he said that he realized that the human body often fails to recover from the deadlift. Explaining his reason, he said, “If you’re coming in every week and deadlifting heavy every seven days, you’re never recovering.” Stressing the importance of both intensity and speed of the deadlift, he said that if he does a heavy deadlift session then, he needs a week of speed deadlifts to help him recover from it.

Revealing the impact of lifting heavy weights, he said that if someone is doing it with heavy weights, nice and slow, they train and target the slow-twitch fibers. And then the next week, when you’re doing speed reps, you’re training the fast-twitch fibers. “I did a week of speed and a week of heavy, and I did that for six months, and my deadlift went up to 460 kilos (1014 lbs) in six months,” the strongman revealed.

Hall is one of the best to advise someone on deadlifts, being one of the greatest in the strongman circuit. Hall has had numerous ground-breaking milestones in the field, which would leave many shocked.
