The 21st-century day-to-day grind comes with tons of stress and unhealthy practices. Furthermore, societal stereotypes push an individual into the darkest realms of depression and anxiety. The Australian TV presenter Matty Mills recently confessed about similar mental health issues after facing a personal crisis last year. 

The 28-year-old television personality took to fitness to cope with his loss and is overcoming his mental health issues by hitting the gym.

The year 2022 was a tough ride for the Getaway presenter as he lost his brother, Mikey, in an unfortunate incident. The sibling was killed in an unprovoked attack leaving the TV icon in despair. Mills also had to face a heart-wrenching breakup. 

The unforeseen incidents caused much turmoil in the Australian TV icon and he started facing mental health issues. “By the end of last year, I feel I hit pretty close to rock bottom behind the scenes,” he wrote in an emotional Instagram post.

But he took to fitness to get into perfect shape and better his mental state. Mills collaborated with fitness trainer Jono Castano and started training for his 12-week transformation, according to Daily Mail. He posted his breathtaking transformation online and flaunted his shredded physique. Though a daily workout routine helps to maintain mental well-being, the fitness world is not devoid of mental health issues. Another fitness icon, American bodybuilder Flex Wheeler, has opened up about his lows.

Despite being the ‘Sultan of Symmetry,’ the life of bodybuilding icon, Flex Wheeler, hasn’t been a smooth ride. Though his physique is celebrated, he never lifted the Sandow Trophy.

The 4x Arnold Classic winner once revealed his mental health issues. “I couldn’t go to sleep because I had dark thoughts about dying, ” the icon confessed. However, he overcame his negative thoughts and focused on his craft of bodybuilding.
