“In order for all of this to work, this 22-minute sequence, it’s not obviously one take. There’s a lot of wipes,” the Australian actor hinted. Simultaneously, the American director chimed in with his experience of shooting the scene. He shared that it’s mostly about finding the “right moment” to capture.

Although, it doesn’t mean it’s easy at all. Hargrave said, “So it was just me handing it off to myself in another shot. So now I’m in the car, and this is like a contortionist ballet. I’m all over the place, I’m falling down, banging my head. I jammed my finger up, but it lends to the chaos of the sequence.” On top of that, the director grabbed a close-up of Chris while “shimmying” inside a vehicle and then switched on to another vehicle, mid-scene. “I’m reaching inside, I pull it out, I have to grab it. So now I’m operating with my arms crossed,” he added. Moreover, there was a minor glitch in the scene that ended up making it look even more exciting.

A thrilling car crash was set to play, and Hargrave had his camera in the frame to capture it. He explained that the original intention was for the car to hit a set of pipes and then flip over. However, the driver mistakenly hit the button a bit early, which got the car flipping over and then landing in the pipes.

“They scattered in a much more exciting visual display,” he said. Then with further adjustments to visual effects, the final product of the scene “came out pretty cool.” With real explosions and car crashes in action, the chase scene is a marked highlight of the movie.
